Quicken Copy/Restore trashes credit card account

Options
I had an issue with the calendar crashing quicken. I spent some time with online chat support and ended up copying then restore the entire account to get it working again. BUT .. now one of my credit card accounts show all charges as payments and payments as charges.
Is this a known issue? Does anyone have an idea on how this can be fixed ?

Thanks

"now one of my credit card accounts show all charges as payments and payments as charges. "
Are you speaking literally here, i.e., charges are posted in the Payment column and payments are posted in the Charge column, or are you referring to the effect you're seeing in the Balance column for transactions placed into the correct column, i.e., charges are decreasing the balance and payments are increasing the balance?
IF it's the latter, then that phenomenon is not infrequently reported.  At least some of these reports arise because some refunds/returns have put the Account into a debit position, (the credit card company owes you), and subsequent charges lower that balance while payments increase that balance.  Could that be the case here?

It actually adds the payment column to the balance and subtracts charges. Also, in the total when viewing the account name on the left in the list of accounts, it shows the total owed as a "Plus" while all the others that didn't get "trashed" are correctly showing as "Minus" or negative amounts.

First make sure you are sorted in Date order with the newest date at the bottom. If you are not then click the DATE Column heading to sort.

Sounds like you're running a credit balance. Is the balance in red or black? Look back through your transactions and maybe you'll spot one that was entered backward. Or a payment in the charge column or a charge in the payment column. Look around back where this first started happening.  Or maybe you are missing some charges?

If the balance is in Black, it means you have a credit on the card.  Like if you overpaid the bill or got a refund for something you returned.   When you enter a charge it will reduce (decrease) the credit you have available on it.   And a payment will increase the balance.

Also make sure you have the right starting balance.  If it's zero you might need to add a beginning balance for when you started the account in Quicken.

The credit card balance you OWE should be in RED. If the balance is Black then it's showing the credit card company owes you and you have a credit balance. And then when you make a payment it's like the cc owes you more. So you need to go back though your entries and find where the balance switched to black to being in your favor.

    See this for more info…..

Thanks. That fixed it. The very first opening balance entry should have been zero and for whatever reason(s) it inserted an opening balance of over eight grand.
    All is good now.
