I'm no longer getting a dropdown list in "Reference #" column. It still works when using Check # column. Something change? Am I doing something wrong?

I can't remember if the reference # field ever had the dropdown list or not, but I can confirm that it is certainly not there now.  The Reference # field is in credit card accounts, so some of the items that are in the check # list don't make any sense here, so that might be part of the reasoning not to have it in this case.

EDIT: Just checked Quicken 2017 and it doesn't have the list on the reference # field either, so it doesn't look like it ever had one.

@Chris_QPW . I've created an extended list for my use under Reference #. It has gone away sometime during the last update or two after about 20 years. I think that there can be a multitude of options for a user for individual customization of this.

I have to believe this is just another "issue" that was created without intention with the release of another update. It never ceases to amaze me that there can be so many problems created with almost every update after it was created. It almost seems that there are more issues after an update than the update fixed. Something is just not right, regarding that and I just cannot understand it.

Two of the problems I had with the reference # list was the short window the list was supplied in, caused me to have to scan down to find my desired entry. The second was no way just to be able sort, in alphabetical order the list to make it easier to use. I never mentioned it before this, because I suspected some"one" would just say it's fine the way it is ... a very subjective opinion of which there are many.

I'd be curious if any other users have expanded the default list with added ref # 's to help them make Quicken more user friendly for how they use it.

How can I find out if this was a planned changed or just collateral damage from another change in an update? They usually have a short list of some of the "new addition" changes in release notes, but never will they note what was omitted or deleted, in an update in the release notes. Probably with good reason. Thanks Chris!

Check my update to my post.  Quicken 2017 doesn't have this either.  This isn't a recent change.

A prior discussion that is slightly relevant:

Did it used to be there or not?  I have no idea.
