Seems like a lot of work if the transaction is taken care of properly when the correct information is on the 2nd screen where the changes were made. Thank you for your help everyone.

    Hello @JStoudt43

Thank you for reaching out to the Quicken Community. To change the account type please select Tools >Account List >Edit account details >Display Options. On the Display Options, select the first drop-down arrow on the section Account Intent and choose the Liability option. A visual example is below.

Hope this helps. Let us know of other questions or concerns.

I have tried that process and still does not change the information on the main account detail screen. Also changed some other items on the detail screen through the main accounts screen and some of those items did not change on the main account detail screen. Any thing else to try.

Still did not transfer the updated information to the main account detail screen but is corrected on the option you mentioned. Any other ideas.

You can't change the account type of a credit card to a liability account once it is created.  The "intent" is only for telling Quicken where you want group the account in the account bar and maybe in some reports.

You should be able to create a liability account and move the transactions from the credit card account to the liability account, provided that the liability account is an offline account.
Here is a procedure for moving the transactions.
