Is there an easy way to split a windows Quicken file by date?

I been using the same quicken file since 1995. The current size exceeds 240MB. Is there utility or easy way to split the file by date? I'd rather not do all the editing manually.

Tks,
Bob

    Hello @trebor2123,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community with your question.

You can try "shrinking" your data file and copying the data you wish to keep and move forward with by navigating to File > Copy or Backup File... > Create a copy or template (see examples below) which will allow you to select a date range to move forward with.

However, it's important to know that doing so will disconnect all online services in the copied file and you will need to sign back in with your Quicken ID and reconnect all of your online accounts, online billers, Quicken Bill Manager services, etc if you plan to use that copied file going forward as the new copy also creates a new and separate dataset ID.

    I hope this helps!

Also, it's very difficult to put Quicken data files back together again.

  • Thanks That's what I thought I have to do. I guess I'll make a copy and delete what I don't need
