Because the market value of my Vanguard Money Market account in quicken shows it to be zero - there is quite a large negative amount in gain/loss in the 'holding' tab. The cost is the actual amount of what's in the Money Market - but as said no market value... How would I add a market value so Quicken doesn't show the big loss?

I suggest you set the price of the security you're using for the Money Market to an appropriate amount.  You may also want to review the securities, price history for any discrepancies.  Generally, money market funds have a fixed price of $1 and the price quote does do not need to be imported.
