Restore Data (Q Mac)

Options
Dopey me, I lost my Quicken data file. I assume there is no online backup. When I start from scratch, Quicken only downloads recent data. I need data from the beginning of the year. When I download a QFX file from my institution and import it, I end up with bad totals.

Is there a way to tell Quicken to start from 1/1/22 when it first downloads data?

No, you can't download earlier than whatever the bank provides, which is usually 90 days or less.

You can, as you've discovered, download a QFX of the earlier transactions an import that. Your bad balances are likely due to duplicate, or possibly missing, transactions. The only way to fix that is to go through everything to look for the duplicates.

What? No Time Machine backup or other manual backup ever created and stored on external USB stick or USB hard drive?

Quicken by default creates backups every time you quit the program. Did you lose the entire Quicken backup folder as well as your live data file?
