How to override a memorized payee?

I'm trying to manually enter a transaction where the payee name is the same as the beginning of a previously-entered payee name - so the payee and memo are auto-filling.  I can easily wipe out the memo - but I can't figure out how to enter the payee without the OTHER payee name filling in.  I've tried wiping out the part I don't want, repeatedly, and then entering, or deleting, or tabbing - and it always auto-fills.

    I would say, just keep typing more characters of the Payee Name until the name begins to differ from the memorized name.
    Can you give us an example of the Payee Names involved? Perhaps a screen image snapshot showing the situation?

    Try adding a couple of spaces to the end of the part you want to keep as you type it to make it different.

    Besides what @UKR suggested you can also use the down arrow key to select payees that are farther down on the list.
