Budget Timeframes

Hello, is there anyway to show a budget view only through last month--e.g. last-month-to-date for the year? The problem with the budget view is that showing in progress months always has expenses and income out of sync for the given period. Another option would be to prorate the reporting of planned exps and income with the current month.

You have identified the number one failing of the Quicken Mac budget: there's no way to do an accurate budget-versus-actual report except perhaps on the last day of every month. Anyone who uses the budget feature of Quicken Mac wants what you describe: a way to report on year-to-date budget-versus-actual through the end of the prior month.

There's a long-running Idea post requesting the ability to set the date range for such a report which you can view here. The good news: it is marked as "Planned" by the developers. The bad news: it's a longstanding feature request, and we don't know when the developers will implement it. ;)

In the meantime, the only real workaround is to export the full budget to a CSV file, open it in your spreadsheet of choice, delete the monthly columns you don't want, and create columns to sum the budget columns and the actual columns. It's a bit tedious to do repeatedly, but it's a way to get the data you want until the developers make this something we can do inside Quicken.
