Can't link to Citibank Investment account

I opened a new Citibank Investment account. Quicken can't see it for online access. In searching other posts I found 2 relevant questions. neither of which were answered before they were closed. The posts:

https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7914156/citi-investment

https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7913038/quicken-using-wrong-url-for-citibank-investments

The second one seems to be the exact issue I see. Quicken sees and links to all my credit card and bank accounts with Citibank, so it is not a connectivity problem listed in the first post.

When I login in to my Citi online account I do see the total of my investments, but to get details Citi links to a partner account. Quicken can't follow that link. It needs to support the URL for Citibank Investments as described in the second post.

Has anyone solved this?

    Hello @James LeoGrande

I am sorry about this problem with online banking services. Thank you for inquiring about this here on the Quicken Community.

If the URL for your account appears to be incorrect, have you reviewed the information provided in the Support Article linked here? Per the article, it may be necessary to report the URL to the financial institution involved; in this case, Citibank.

Let us know if this is helpful.

    Thank you,

    Quicken Jared

Having the same problem for the last 6 months. Quicken, in their faulty wisdom have closed both of the referenced articles with no resolution and I expect them to do the same here.

this needs to move higher up than the people responding to the discussion as they seem to have no idea what to do and seem to get satisfaction by just pointing you to useless places.

Kind of makes you wonder why you are using Quicken.

OK, have finally figured this out.

    1. Create a new account
    2. type in Citibank Personal
    3. Select Citibank Personal Investments International
    4. enter your citi signon - it will not work but do it anyway
    5. When the new window opens at Citi do not sign on - Register for the web site
    6. you will need your Citi Investment account number from settings on the Citibank web site.
    7. answer all the identity questions,
    8. Get a new userID (only for this site) suggest you use a different userid
    9. Verify the email address when they send you an email to verify.
    10. Log into the Investment Web site (complete phone number, email security, etc)
    11. NOW go back to quicken and repeat steps (1,2,3,4 with the new sig on)

Yes it is that complicated, but it works
    Good Luck

Maybe someone at Quicken can use this information to make people's life easier
  • RayW3 Thanks so much. With your help I was able to set it up. In step 2 I had to use "Citi Personal" to get to the investment account login, not "Citibank Personal" . thanks for taking the time to help.
