when downloading the CC transactions into the set up CC account register, does it read:

Date: number: transaction paid to: amount: credit : total

In the old quickbooks pro, the " transaction paid to" was blank that you had to click on it to see were the payment went to.

The new quickbooks pro now it loads into the register when downloading. Is quicken this way to?

Quicken advertises itself as a budgeting tool for Canada, but is missing proper integration with WealthSimple. It imports my investments and chequing account but not my credit card which is a big gap. As a result, I’ll need to cancel my subscription. I don’t think there’s even a way to manually import those transactions. Anyone have luck?

Testing Quicken Classic on Mac

I have Quicken Classic for Windows. I am a long time user. I am considering Quicken Classic for Mac to allow me to get rid of the last Windows system I have. I am familiar with the conversion process. I want to test the Mac version. I used it several years ago but have seen there have been a lot of improvements. Before I do, I am trying to find out about having both machines sync to Quicken Cloud for Mobile and Quicken Web. I don't use Web, I do use Mobile. Is there an issue with having both machines syncing the data and/or can I turn that option off on Mac and still download transactions? Most of my searching on this returns answers around trying to sync the same data file between two computers, which is not what I want to do.

I am considering changing from Classic Home & Business (H&B) to the new cloud-only H&B Quicken but need to understand what will be required to make the change. Does quicken offer a guide on how to transfer from Classic to the cloud-based product?

I also need to understand what options there are if the web version doesn't meet my needs if the transactions can be exported and imported back into Quicken Classic.

Canadian support challenged on what or how to buy

Had one of my most frustrating support exchanges trying to figure out which version i needed to buy for Canadian usage. If you go to the US site you have the new Simplifi and Classic, if you go to the Canadian website there is only Classic and no mention of Simplifi. After a very long conversation with support i got a confirmation that the web version supports US and CDN banks but no confirmation that the reporting with support CRA requirements. They gave me a 50% discount for my troubles and sent me on my way. The CDN website needs to be updated to point to the US website if this is the case for the Simplifi version.

Buyers please be aware that the MAC OS version does not provide the same level of functionality as the windows version. I purchased the software to assist me with tracking rental properties but rental tracking is not supported in the same way, instead you will have to use a series of work arounds like tags and categories to record information.

I'm looking for a cloud based program that I can download to my desktop. I may or may not use my mobile to access the program on occassion. I was a Quicken user for about 25 years before stepping away a couple of years ago. Over time, I ran into recurring issues such as data‑file corruption, the need for frequent validations, and noticeable slowness when entering transactions. Eventually I moved to other products that avoided those problems and offered a more modern interface with true multi‑window support. Even so, those alternatives still fall short of Quicken's feature set, so I’ve remained open to returning if the long‑standing issues were addressed.

From the website, it looks like Quicken’s interface has been refreshed, which is encouraging. What I cannot determine is whether the underlying Windows engine has been modernized in a way that improves performance and data integrity.

For those who have deeper technical insight or recent hands‑on experience:
Has Quicken for Windows’ underlying engine been updated in recent years, and have you seen meaningful improvements in stability and speed?

Will I be able to update the same files that were shared with me?

Back in October, a business associate asked me to help maintain the Quciken account for our business. We have several accounts and he shared two of them with me. I did not download Quicken Classic on my laptop, but I used the web version to update transactions. This worked without any issue through December.

When I tried to enter a transaction in January, I could not access those shared accounts. Instead I got a screen that says "It looks like you have not synced your accounts yet", telling me to update settings on the laptop version. I don't have Quicken Classic on my laptop, so I can not do the sync on my computer.

Can my business associate fix this on his computer?

Do I have to buy a version for my computer?

If I do have to buy Quicken classic for my laptop, will I be able to access the shared accounts I used to work on?

Can you produce reports in Simplifi that displays memos or notes for every transaction?

Move from Quicken USA to Quicken Canada

This causes problems due to tax differences, inability to download Canadian investments, etc. I have US and Canadian bank accounts and investments. Is it possible to move my massive database from Quicken USA to Quicken Canada?

I see I can save a few dollars by using both, and it really makes sense. I see there is a bundle option. I am on my second year of Simplifi, so that is at full price, and the renewal just went through. I can get the LifeHub less expensive for a year, I understand.

Next year, when I renew both products, will I be able to get the bundled price, and is there already a process set up so I can?

I have Quicken Classic Deluxe and have used the tax planner for many years to estimate quarterly tax payments and do scenario tax planning. I'm disappointed they haven't made it more robust or updated it in 2025 for the tax bill. For example, It still caps state and local taxes at $10,000! My question: Is Quicken Classic Premium any better in the tax planner area? Or, is it the same tax planner that's in Deluxe? I would upgrade to Premium if I knew it was a more robust program in this area. Does anyone know?

Discounted Quicken for people who update manually and use few online services

I update almost all my accounts manually and don’t use the download capacities except to update mutual fund prices. I think Quicken should consider a heavily discounted version which does not use its download capabilities. I get very little from its updates. I’ve used Quicken almost from its inception and have gone from paying $19-29 every three years to today’s subscription which is over $75 a year, with very little change in the program. In fact, several features it once had are no longer available.

Saw the sale prices for today's Black Friday at Quicken.com. I ate lunch and when I went and opened the web page to order Quicken Classic Premier at 47% off all the sale prices for Quicken Classic versions as advertised had been changed and no % off at all. The Mobile and Web versions still show a sale price and show the % off.

I guess some got the good deal price before they took it down..,…. not a good look Quicken…

It astounds me that I can purchase a copy at Sam's Club for $56, but I have to renew it on Quicken's website for $105 to keep the same user account. Why don't you let the new user pony up the $105 dollars with the bait that'll be half that when it renews?
