Each time I start up Quicken a screen comes up telling me to upgrade to 8.5.1.  I tell it to upgrade, but when it restarts it is still version 8.4.2 and wants me to again upgrade.</p><p></p><p>I am running an Intel iMac that is running MacOS Sequoia and can not run Tahoe.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,</p><p>Forgive me if this is the thousandth time that this question has been asked but I would actually like to set my Quicken file up correctly this time.  I am running Quicken Classic Deluxe Version 8.3.3 (Build 803.58927.100) on a Mac laptop.   I would like to set up a new file starting 01/01/2026 with no previous history from my old Quicken file.</p><p>What is the best way to do this? Should I manually enter my bank statement amount from 12/31/25 and then proceed to connect to downloads? Will I then have to manually remove all transactions dated prior to 01/01/26 using this method?</p><p>What about investment accounts? Best to manually enter them?   </p><p>Sorry to appear so clueless, I just want things to be correct.</p><p>Many thanks for any advice you can provide.</p>]]>

When trying to install it fails with the following message:  <strong>Failed to perform authenticated file move for Quicken.app</strong>.  </p><p>Applications folder has permissions Read &amp; Write for system and admin (me).  Applications folder does not have any hidden files (some suggestions included looking for one).</p><p>The Quicken files in my user account are in DropBox if that makes any difference.</p><p>I can install on a MacBook with same OS (26.2) so it is something about my new computer (user account migrated last night).</p><p>Any suggestions would be appreciated.  </p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I am absolutely flabbergasted that Quicken will be asking for a price increase for software that currently does not even work as advertised.  For months I have been dealing with my fidelity accounts synchronization problems and yet with no real solutions in sight the company is sending out a notice of price increases.  I still have no resolution on the failure of my FloridaPrepaid 429 linkage issues.  I purchased this software to help me organize my finances and yet my finances still cant be trusted because of, duplicated accounts, billings and invoices.  I feel the need to alert Quicken to the plight of the users.  I've been using software for most of my adult life now, and frankly I don't feel as though I am getting our monies worth.  I have never experienced the total inability of a product to work as advertised as I have with this program.  I have never had problems with software by Adobe, Microsoft, Autodesk or Graphisoft on a level similar to this.  It feels as though the software is being beta tested by people paying to use it. Please listen to your customers and fix the software before releasing to the paying public.  I promise you as soon as I find a better alternative I will no longer be renewing my subscription. MANY changes. Some very welcomed. I have already sent my comments and thoughts in to Quicken. But some may be helpful to mention here.</p><ul><li>I cannot Add Wells Fargo Visa as an eBill if Wells Checking is connected as DC. Would be VERY nice for this to change. I am not surprised it does not work. Has not for many months in Windows since the time when Wells CC would be added as a DC biller. That no longer works and now confirmed in Mac as well as Windows.<br /></li><li>The duplicate biller entries when the amount due in the series is set to 0.00 has been fixed! No more duplicate entries.<br /></li><li>No more pdf statements with billers. Column is gone. I am not surprised this is no longer supported though it was useful and I'll miss it.<br /></li><li>Tabs on Bills and Income have changed. Not sure I prefer the new arrangement but can work with it. And my columns for all Bills and Income tabs have been rearranged and changed. Not a big deal.<br /></li></ul><p>BUT…most of my issues are here. After updating to the new Bill Provider I have:</p><ul><li>3 sets of duplicated Payees. It was tricky to find where to delete or hide them and which to retain as active.<br /></li><li> 3 Elans in Bills and trouble linking any of them to Billers and Payees. I have one Fidelity Credit card I was try to link to Elan as that is who gets the bill payment. This was the trickiest for me to sort out, but I have now. One things is older Payees that have been used previously but not currently were appearing in the new tabs for Payees. I had to delete any unused and hide any used that are not CURRENTLY being used.<br /></li><li> <strong>2 Billers require Syncing </strong>to use and I need much more info on that. I do nothing Mobile or in the Cloud and do not know the ramifications. T-Mobile and Progressive Insurance are asking for this.<br /><br /><em><strong>What happens if I say yes to allowing syncing?<br /><br /></strong></em>I do not want my financial data in the cloud. if JUST T-Mobile and Progressive, I'd be ok. Please help me understand why these two Billers need this and what my choices are.<br /></li><li>Manual bills have no FI identifying icon. Hard to tell what they are. All are a generic white “document” icon. Hard to differentiate.<br /></li><li>Had to close and reopen Quicken before OSU would work. First try was not successful.</li></ul><p>So there you are. A few hours work Some new features I like. Some I will not use, some a tad confusing. But this is the meat of my update. Appreciate insight on the Sync. I shall search for that here next.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>In trying to update to version 8.3.3 (on macOS 26.1), I'm given the option to install the update in the Applications folder or the "current" folder.  When I choose the Applications folder, I get a message that says, 'You can't save the file "Quicken<br />
(803.58902.100) " because the volume "DF33498F-5B9D-462B-B842-DE97FB3066DD' is read only. </p><p>When I acknowledge the message the installation ends. I never had the choice of folders before. I want Quicken in the Applications folder, so not sure how to proceed.  Any suggestions would be welcome.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I opened Quicken this morning and it wanted an update so I said ok.  I then updated my accounts via the icon with two arrows pointing in a circle in the upper left corner.  I then noticed that one of my accounts with Fidelity is weird — my Fidelity Checking account which is just cash (no stocks).  In the left hand list of accounts, its value is twice as much as it should be.  When I select the account the big value number at the upper right is also twice as much as it should be.  The balance column of the Transactions is correct.</p><p>I tried going back to the old version of Quicken (and said I would update later) but I have the same problem.  I tried restoring to a backup on 9/11 using the new version of Quicken but it also has the same problem.  If I restore from an older backup, I can't tell but it looks ok but I can't do the "Update Accounts" because of some message about Quicken Cloud — which scared me off.</p><p>I could try the old version of Quicken and the 9/11 backup but I thought I would stop and ask for help.</p><p>What is suggested?</p><p>I know things were ok a week ago (9/20) so the 9/11 backup should be good.</p><p>Update with additional info: If I select the bad account, then pick Portfolio at the top, and then uncheck the "Include cash" box, the line is $0 (as it should be) until September 17, 2025 at which point it pops up to the amount of its current value (the last transaction is on 9/15).  It is like there is some hidden bogus non-cash transaction on 9/17.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I want to switch to the mac, I've used windows and mac platforms for years, and Quicken is one app that keeps holding me up.  Why doesn't the mac update banking, credit, investing accounts and show the same balances as on Windows???  I find the windows version generally match what my online account balances show, while the Mac version is generally a different number not indicating the update of transactions that Windows performed in Auto Update earlier.  The Mac version doesn't seem to "ever catch up" with the results in Windows which erodes confidence in what it is presenting on the screen.  I don't feel it is trustable to be correct???  How to reconcile this?</p>]]>

In Library/Application Support there is no Quicken Folder, and when I search I cannot find any of my other files either. I made a copy of my current data file before I moved the original but can't find that either. HELP!!!</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>My Quicken Classic for Mac is loading and running slow.  I did all of the suggestions and also I have a new iMac computer, still poor performance .  It was suggested on Apple Support Community to use EtreCheckPro to analyze my system.  I researched this product and found conflicting reports as to whether it is safe to use on my computer.  Does anyone have any suggestions to get my Quicken to perform as normal?</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I have just updated to the newest update, I had to reconnect all accounts as they became unconnected. All accounts are correct except my checking account, it shows 969 dollars in account It’s only off by 3,000 dollars,[Removed - Language] All my other accounts are correct, except the bank account, which I have other accounts with same bank, same id, etc, [Removed - Language], I will keep using quicken, the only way to fix this is to enter manually, but this won't work as I have regular transfers, so my checking will always have wrong balance so I will have to put in a false deposit to fix this, so just fix it.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>The Quicken website says I can install my subscription program (Quicken Classic for Mac) on as many computers as I like. But when I go to the website from my second computer and log in, the site says that "it looks like you don't have a subscription," and invites me to subscribe a second time. How can I inform the site that I already have a subscription, and I just want to install it on this second computer? </p>]]>
