Can someone tell me what symbol to use to get quote/prices for gold and silver

    If you're referring to the futures price (i.e. /GC and /SI) you can't.  You can get a quote for the associated ETFs (i.e GLD and SLV).

    Thanks:  I was thinking of the spot price (I think that's today's price).  I was afraid that was the answer>

    If Forex symbols work, you can see if XAGUSD does the job. It is the next closest thing (I have not looked into this so YMMV).
