Why must I always have internet access to sign in to quicken?
Why must I always have internet access to sign in to quicken? I don’t always need it. After I do, it always wants me to use mobile app. I always say no but always get the same question.

Are you Syncing to Mobile/Web?
Do you use the Mobile app on your smartphone or the new Quicken on the Web feature?If no, turn Sync off completely.

Windows: https://www.quicken.com/support/how-edit-or-delete-your-cloud-datasets-quicken-windows
AFAIK, if you want to use Quicken offline,- your Ethernet cable must be unplugged
- your WiFi must be disabled in Windows
or Quicken will attempt to connect5
