Why when I click on a search result do I get a permissions error?

I'm conducting a search on the main page regarding problems with connecting with Umpqua bank.  I see there are a number of returned results.  But, when I click on any of them, I get an error page:

Permission Problem

You don't have permission to do that.

Why does this happen?

The threads in question are likely archived, and so not generally available. Old threads that become irrelevant and ones that are never answered eventually get moved to the archive by the moderators to keep the forum to a manageable size.

It it seems odd though that archived threads show up in searches if you don’t have the necessary permissions to view them. I’ll ask the moderators to check what’s going on.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to report this error, although I apologize for any frustration or inconvenience experienced.

The "Permission Problem" error message will appear in the Community when attempting to view a post that has been "archived" due to the age, validity of information or lack of response from the original poster.

The search results should only return current, non-archived posts, however there is a known issue that causes the search results to show all posts, both archived and active.

This issue has been reported and we hope to receive a resolution soon.  In the meantime, I recommend double-checking the search results and avoiding any post that shows "Archived Posts" as the category.

I hope this information is helpful and apologize again for any frustration experienced.
