I am using Quicken 2019(Mac) and I can’t find any thing that resembles your description. Possibly you are referencing a different version

No, I'm referencing the same version.

One possibility: Is your sidebar (left side of the screen) collapsed? If so, click the ">" button to expand it. Or click the "$" button to show the account list.

I did leave out one step:

1a) Click the "Transactions" button at the top to switch to transactions (rather than portfolio) view.

If that still doesn't help, let me know and I'll try to show you some screenshots.

Yes, it worked, I finally found the symbol column.

    Thanks

It seems like that this would be a common report request, so should be set up in the Report menu.
