Why does a Buy transaction show in transaction view but security not shown in portfolio view?

Look at the beginning of the register to see if you have a light gray Placeholder Transaction that is offsetting your Buy. I suspect you will see a Remove Shares transaction counteracting your Buy.
There are various valid reasons these get created (they are a form of balance adjustments. Since you downloaded this transaction, it likely was created because they haven't updated the share balance that gets reported to Quicken yet. If so, you can delete the placeholder (if it is just offsetting this single Buy), or wait a day or two for them to update their records reported to Quicken.
