I would like to be able to have options for how the register looks - I actually like the look of the register in QuickBooks Desktop.

As to customizing the register view in Q Mac, you can try the Columns button at the lower right. But other than adding or deleting columns from the register view, there doesn't appear much you can do to change the look and feel of the register.
