After the last update I am now asked for a password to open the file even though the preferences are set so no password is required. How do I fix this?

Please try this:
In Quicken go to Edit / Preferences / Quicken ID & Cloud Accounts.
Click the text link "Sign in as a different user"
Follow instructions to sign out, then sign in with your current Quicken ID and password.

What password are you asked to provide? The Quicken ID password?
Or a password for your data file?
Or something else?Once in a while you are actually asked to re-identify yourself and provide your Quicken ID and password. That should be a very infrequent occurrence.0 -
