Delete old listed checking account transactions (Q Mac)

Question

How to delete old listed checking account transactions that say "waiting" under the Check # column.  For unknown reasons, to me, these checks were not sent, and I can not delete them.

Thanks.  But that it is too drastic to set up new account; too much could go wrong.  Also, the checks were never transmitted to the bank, so that won't work.  This happened once before, and some combination of keystrokes deleted the checks.

Did not work.  The date on the transaction was Jan 2000; it did not get delivered.
