Setting up a future payment [edited]

I have a monthly recurring manual reminder in Bills &Income tab, Bills Income and Transfers. In August it goes up $3. So I went to the August reminder, clicked on the drop down arrow on the right of its line, chose "Edit this instance and all future instances", and modified the fixed price. Low and behold, it changed the June and July entries too even though they were not either THIS or FUTURE instances.

You'll have to wait until the July payment has been made before you can edit August and all future reminders. That's the way Quicken works (and has been working all along). Sorry. Quicken only works with one instance of a scheduled reminder, not several.
One way, sort of, around this is to set the reminder to variable amount, based on number of [1] prior transactions. After you have recorded the August transaction, all future reminders will use the updated amount ... until the next time the amount changes again.
Don't forget to check and update the budget category for this transaction. You can update the August budget now and tell Quicken to carry the new amount forward to the rest of the year.

Thanks. They should at least change the wording, it strongly suggests something the software does not do.
