I am having the exact same issue. Running R35.31.

Here is the screenshot. I have also validated my files and it came back clean.

Does this overdue bill show up in Tools / Manage Bills & Income Reminders when the view is sorted by Due Date?

If it does, try deleting it: Click to select the entry, then click "Delete" in the menu bar at the top of the view.
