Prevent Quicken from entering 12/31/22 date in the register?

When I go to a record in the register the date is automatically selected - and touching any key without first selecting a different field automatically overwrites the date with 12/31 of the current year. Is there a setting to prevent this?

Is the R key on your keyboard stuck?

No, this occurs after I've downloaded transactions. The date field is automatically selected and highlighted, the same as when you drag-select a field in Windows.

Tell us more about what you're doing, please.
You just downloaded transactions and you're now clicking on a transaction in the Downloaded Transactions tab, to review, change and accept it ... what do you do next?
@mshiggins suggestion about "a stuck 'R' key" is a reference to a Date keyboard shortcut: When in a Date field, press "R" to set the date to 12/31.
Is there something in your process that causes an "R" to be entered/typed?

Maybe sort your register by date and see if there are any prior transactions with the 12/31/22 date entered.  Maybe it's picking up one that is dated wrong.  Like if you manually entered a 12/31/2021 transaction as 2022.  That can happen at the beginning of the year when you enter a transaction for the prior year and forget to change the year.

I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.
