Bank of America Checking Balance Wrong after connecting to new web connection

Title says it all. My balance is off in the register by over a grand, not in my favor. I have looked at my initial balance as others have mentioned but that does seem to be the issue.
Of course, with close to 30 years of records in Quicken I am not sure what my initial balance was. :) Anyone have any thoughts/clues/musings?

    Hi @PDrew

If you have a backup of your Quicken datafile from before you changed to the "new web connection" method, then I would suggest that you first backup your current datafile, then restore that backup file.  Once you do that - open the BOA checking register > go to the opening balance and write down that number.  Next close out Quicken and then restore the backup copy you just made.

You'll then be able to determine if the problem is a change in the initial balance and you can then change it to the "correct" opening balance.

Let me know how that goes or if you have any followups.

Had the same issue. [Mess]ed up the opening balance on 6 different accounts, downloaded transactions that were already reconciled, overwrote entries already in there. Restored a backup a few times and got different results every time.

for now, I just put in a dummy amount to balance things with the bank. Checking and Savings are messed up, but stangely, not the credit card.

Same issue. Updated to new Web Connect Plus method, and checking account balance suddenly off by $1,425.98 in my favor. For 20 years, this account has NEVER been off, not even by once cent. Hope they figure out this latest "improvement" soon.

Same issue, plus more issues. Quicken created new accounts where the accounts already existed, and balances are off in several accounts. I've used Quicken for Windows for 20+ years and never had the kinds of problems that I've had in the past year. I'm finished with Quicken.

Strangely close to my number DotCom. My checking is off 1438.43. Savings off 80 or so. Wish we would hear something from the Quicken peeps on this.

UPDATE: I finally got around to trying what Frankx suggested-backup my current file, restore an old one, and take a look at the opening balance numbers (I must admit I was a bit leery of doing so, hence my delay...). Indeed, the opening balances for my checking and savings had not only been changed, but the dates that had been entered had been too. I fixed those numbers and everything is now in balance. If you try this make sure you backup your current file and read carefully when restoring as to not overwrite the file. A hassle, but all better now. Thanks Frank!

I take it back. Quicken is totally toast. One Step Updates take 10 minutes, there are double entries in my BOA checking and savings And my Chase Credit card, and it has again altered the opening balances. This is very not good.
