Why can't I see running balance in the register?

I just updated to Quicken for Mac (Version 6.10.2) - I can no longer see my running balance (today's balance) in the register - I only see it in the top right-hand corner. I really prefer to see it in the register and see it update as I add or delete money in my account. Is there a way to change the settings to show this? (All the other versions had it like this)

Make sure you have an account selected in the account sidebar and not an account group. Account groups don't show a balance in the register.
If you are looking at an individual account, then maybe the balance column got turned off somehow. Click on the Columns button in the lower right corner and check the box next to Balance.
