Mac Quicken Deluxe Unable To Import Quicken 2007 Data

I was forced to upgrade to Mac OS Catalina, which means that my old Quicken 2007 no longer works. So, I purchased Quicken Deluxe, but it's unable to import my old file. This is the error I get when I try:
"Could not import “[filename]”
The resource fork is missing.
If you copied this file from another computer, try creating a .zip archive of the original file and copying the .zip file instead. After copying the .zip file to this computer, you can unzip the original file by double-clicking the .zip file.
I've seen other posts suggesting going back to the original file and exporting it as a Zip file and trying again. But I can't do that because there's no way to revert to the previous OS and I can't open it within Catalina.
Is there any way to rescue my old data file??

Someone else recently posted in the forums about receiving that error message & said they were able to resolve it by adding the ".qdfm" extension to the file name.

Could it really be that simple? FWIW, I just re-indexed the file before the upgrade to Catalina. I'll try that and report back.0
