Quicken program runs very slowly

:/ For the past few months or longer, my Quicken for Windows (latest version) has been extremely slow to record manually entered transactions or update account transactions online. The problem seems to relate to file size. My home Quicken file size is 196MB. Two other Quicken files I work with do NOT suffer from the slow transaction speeds and their file sizes are only 1.8MB and 7MB respectively.

Quicken does not offer an option to compress the file. I have run the "repair/validate" option, but that has not helped.

Any advice or suggestions that are known to solve this problem?

Chat session with Quicken Support just now confirmed that file size contributes to the problem with the slowness in recording transactions manually or downloading online transactions in Quicken. Their only advice was to perform a "Super Validation" procedure. I did that but the program continues to run slowly.

To help with this situation, could I trouble you to show us the File Information view?
    - Click Help in the Menu Bar. Shift+click About Quicken and it'll give you the File Information view. Please capture an image snapshot of this File Information box to a JPG, PNG or GIF file. Drag and drop this file from Windows File Explorer into your next Comment here.
What version of Windows are you using?

Am running a Parallels virtual Windows 10 machine, OS build 19042.2130, on a Macbook Pro (MacOS Big Sur v11.7).

FYI, I just performed a "Year-End Copy" procedure in Quicken using a "current" archival date of 1/1/2022. The resulting revised file is reduced in file size (according to Mac Finder) from 196 to 134MB. Quicken's performance seems to be as slow as it was before.

Also FYI, I've tried using Quicken for Mac but it continues to be an anemic version of the Windows program.

    Thanks for the File Information.
How much RAM have you allocated to Parallels + Windows? It should not be less than 8 GB. More would be better.
Your memorized Payee List is a little big, IMHO.

To trim the list and keep it in shape please do this:

In Edit / Preferences / Data Entry and Quickfill make sure you have a checkmark at
[√] "Remove memorized payees not used in [xx] months"
and set [xx] to something like "18". Do not set it to zero. IMHO, you should set the number to 12 or higher for best results, so that once-a-year payees don't vanish.

Restart Quicken for the change to take effect and housekeeping to clean up the Memorized Payee List.

Check the File Information box again to see the reduced count.

Wherever possible, use standardized Payee Names: Use "Starbucks" instead of "POS TRANS 070119 STARBU", "POS TRANS 070219 STARBU", "POS TRANS 070319 STARBU" . Downloaded payee names often contain useless extra stuff. Renaming Rules might help.
