Quicken 2010 backup file format - QIF or QDF ? (edit)

I currently run Quicken 2010 on my Linux computer mainly because I am unable to install a later version, ex 2022. Having said that, however, I like 2010 and it meets all my needs. My issue is that when I back up my 2010 quicken files it converts them to QDF. How can I change it to stay QIF because it I ever had to uninstall my Linux OS and reinstall Quicken 2010 the program won't be able to open a QDF file as 2010 only accepts QIF files. Is there a way to convert a QDF file to QIF ?

Huh? All Quicken versions 2010 and later use a single .qdf file for the data. Backup files are .qdf-backup. QIF is to import transactions from your bank or broker.

need a little clarification on how exactly you are running Quicken under Linux - ?? …
and how you are creating backup files ??
As mentioned above,
Quicken backup files are just copies of the main Quicken QDF file… so don’t know why you are mentioning QIF
