Is a 2017.qdf file compatible with Quicken 2012?

I want to use an old XP machine to work on my quicken 2017 files.

Question: Is a quicken 2017 .qdf file usable with quicken 2012?

    No. Quicken is not backward compatible.

    I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

    What happened with your Q2017 install?

    Quicken user since Q1999. Currently using QW2017.

    Q2017 is alive and well on Win7 & 10. I am leaving on a trip & will take on old xp laptop - Q2017 will not install on xp but 2012 will. I was hoping Q2012 would work with 2017 data files since they both are .qdf files. I will only enter checking and credit card data.
