Success in reauthorizing and connecting out 2 Amex accounts (3 cards). Slightly different from the post from @DJPhilouis on Mar 1:
This is in Win 11 23H2 Build 22631.3296 with Quicken R55.15
- backup your Quicken file
- make sure all American Express Quicken accounts are disabled for download
- close and reopen quicken
- recheck that all American Express accounts are disabled for download
- Add a new Account
- select American Express as the financial institution
- may ask if you want to set up download … yes, you want to set up for download
- Quicken will notify you to (re)authorize quicken at American Express
- Quicken will launch the American Express authorization page in you browser
- sign in to American Express and select the accounts to authorize
- click on "authorize" at American Express (missed that the first time)
- American Express will tell you that you can close the window and return to quicken
- back in quicken, it will take a minute or two for the American Express authorization to be recognized
- Quicken will present the American Express accounts available … MAKE SURE THE AMERICAN EXPRESS ACCOUNTS WILL BE LINKED TO YOUR EXISTING LOCAL (QUICKEN) AMERICAN EXPRESS ACCOUNTS.
- click on "finish"
- Quicken will (should) now download from American Express to bring the local accounts up to date.
- Check your local (Quicken) American Express accounts have been fully updated
- backup for Quicken file (being excessively safe)
- close and reopen Quicken
- rejoice!
Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee this will fix this issue for everybody. If it helps a few troubled Quicken/American Express users, then it will have been worthwhile typing all of these steps out.
Good Luck!
