Transactions disappear

Having an issue with Quicken Classic, Windows, R56.9, 27.1.56.9. Transactions that I enter into my checking account register are not there when I open the program the next day. It seems to be scheduled ones, and usually ones that are not reconciled, although sometimes reconciled transactions disappear. I discover it when I go to reconcile and there's a non-zero balance that corresponds to a scheduled deposit, or payment. I am saving at the end of each session. I've run file validation and that doesn't seem to make a difference.

    Additional info: it sometimes seems to happen when I do the backup, or upload to the cloud. I'll watch that more closely over the next few days and see if that's consistent.
