Account register showing wrong balance (Q Mac)

I am currently using Quicken for Mac version 7.7.1.

This is not "my first rodeo." I have been using Quicken for 15 years and have never seen this happen before, but it is now. Two of my accounts (there may be others I just haven't discovered yet) are showing incorrect account balances—one credit card account and my checking account specifically. Quicken "knows" the correct balance because both accounts reconcile, but the correct balance no longer shows in the balance column. Because of this I was charged $30 in overdraft fees on my checking account this month.

I have systematically been through the "If Your Balance is Incorrect" help file at

https://help.quicken.com/display/MAC/If%2Byour%2Bbalance%2Bis%2Bincorrect

and everything is as it should be. Needless to say, this is an extremely serious issue.

Rick, even though I found no uncleared transactions, that got me thinking. Might it be possible that there might be some old cleared, but unreconciled, posts. I am not sure how that happened, but I slowly scrolled through years of transactions and as it turned out, yes, there were four and deleting them brought my checking account back to the correct running balance. Bizarre, but it worked.

Rick, thanks for taking the time to respond. That was certainly something worth exploring, but no old uncleared transactions are showing.
