How do I update the balance of an asset account I created for my car loan? It says it hasn't updated the balance since December of last year even thought i click update and it goes out to the bank but the balance doesn't change and the date doesn't either.

    Hi @Paddy

You didn't mention the name of the entity that you received your auto loan from (but I think you are saying that it is a
"bank loan" and it isn't updating).

After you first setup the auto loan account in Quicken, did you successfully "connect" to the loan provider through Quicken, and were you also able to receive transaction updates from that loan provider? In theory, you should have been able to download those transactions that would reduce the amount of the loan principal and record the monthly interest you paid.

If those updates have stopped, you'll need to either "reconnect Quicken" to your account at the loan provider, or - if you cannot connect - enter transactions manually.

Please tell us more about the items above and their current status and we'll go from there.

It sounds like you are downloading to the Quicken loan account.

Users have no access to online-enabled loan accounts; you will have to delete the existing account and create a new one.

You will lose nothing by deleting the existing account: all it contains is one record with the account balance as of the last download to the account.
