Q ver R57.26, Win 10, HP Elitedesktop Pro (AMD), local disk C: & D:, Synology file server-16T

I opened my Quicken file (1 of 3) and saw this disaster. Tried to validate and repair, but no response ("program in use by another application"?)

I believe the problem is in trying to access the Q program before it has fully loaded into memory. Closed program "as is", rebooted system, and tried again. No problems.

Now I watch CPU and memory in Task Manager before attempting to use program. CPU must show 0 and memory must be stable to avoid problems.

I have been saving Q files to local drive D: (partition 2 on system drive) and "backing up" to mapped file server drive Q. From now on, I will copy (and not back up) to drive Q. Not a big deal to reconnect to banks. As it turns out, if I restore from a Quicken "backup", I am forced to revalidate the file at each bank, anyway.

[Removed - Rant/Speculation] Endless validation and supervalidation are band-aids, not cures.

I will never put my data on a Q cloud. Good luck to all.
