One step update doesn't download gold and silver spot prices

I am using ^XAUUSD and ^XAGUSD for gold and silver respectively. When I do a one step update, I get the attached error, HOWEVER if i click the update button in photo 2, the price is updated as in photo 3….. thoughts?

I might add that the "report" never has given any information about which securities failed to download… but this is a whole other issue i guess!!

It could be one of these things…

    1. You must either hold shares of Gold or Silver or have them in your watch list, otherwise the prices will not download.
    2. The security name must also have the caret (^) symbol prefix (^Gold, ^Silver) as shown below. I first setup the securities without the caret and Quicken downloaded the initial prices but never updated after that. Adding the caret prefix to the security name fixed that problem.

Thanks for the response, xlnja. They both were already in my watch list and quotes were set to download. I changed "Gold" to "^Gold", left "Silver" alone, and that didn't fix the issue. I then added shares of each to an account, and that didn't work either.

Mine used to download gold and siler prices just fine. It seemed to have stopped around July 19.
