Entry deleted from register and put in downloaded transactions as "New"
Today I had an random entry showed up when I downloaded transactions from my bank. It had a date for 12/1/2023. Today is 11/5/2024. It said its a NEW transaction but I download my transaction at least once a month. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what happened. It turns out this transaction was entered into and reconciled in my Quicken account almost two years ago. But today, for whatever reason, the transaction was no longer in my register. Instead it was placed into the downloaded transactions as a new transaction from my bank. I verified this was not a transaction it in my bank account. So it appears Quicken deleted the transaction from my register and placed it as a "new" transaction that was downloaded from my bank. Any ideas?

I am getting frustrated using this software. Too often Quicken will download transactions from my bank twice. A couple times I've seen where Quicken creates a new opening balance (why?). I've caught this when I reconcile and the previous month's ending amount no longer equals the current months starting amount and throws off my reconciliation. I do not like how unstable Quicken seems to be. I have spent a lot of time tracking down and correcting errors happening in Quicken that should not be happening. If a new issue has developed I feel this software is not longer worth the trouble.
