Going back to Quicken Classic for Windows (from Quicken for Mac)

I was using Quicken Classic for Windows from 2005 to 2021. I had several Single Mutual Fund accounts during this period.

I then converted the data file to Quicken Classic for Mac in 2021 and have been using Quicken for Mac until now (so Quicken for Mac has everything from 2005 to 2025).

I now want to go back to Windows.

Unfortunately, when I tried exporting Quicken Mac data to a .qxf file and then importing it into brand new empty Quicken for Windows, there were quite a few issues. For example:

  • Single Mutual Fund accounts all have a large negative balance (when it should be $0)
  • Bond transactions in an investment account were not showing up.
  • Kept getting an error message saying, "Cannot record transfer. You do not have a position in the destination"
  • Also got this error message twice: "Quicken is unable to complete your request.[OL-221-Al]"

I did keep a copy of the Windows Quicken data file from 2021 when I converted to Mac.

Is there a way to start with that 2021 Quicken for Windows data file, and then only import transactions from 2021 to 2025 from Quicken for Mac (instead of the entire 2005 to 2025)?

Thank you.
