How do you clear security/payee now from interest income transactions?

I'm trying to clear out the security/payee field in Quicken Premier 8.0.1 for an investment account so that it shows the interest on cash like mentioned in the linked post.

However, it appears that you cannot remove security/payee from a transaction anymore.

Is there something I'm missing?

I think you meant to link to a different post in that discussion. Anyway, I see that once you specify a security for an Interest Income transaction you can't clear that field and have no security. But if you create a new transaction it will let you leave the security field blank.

Ah bummer. Alright, I'll remove them and create without.

I was hoping I could just modify the downloaded transactions. I'll submit feedback to Quicken.

I think I fixed the URL on this now. It was linking to a specific comment in the thread.

Not sure if this would help, but you could create a "fake" security named "Cash" and edit the transaction to use that name.
