Archiving? further back than a year

hi, thought I archived everthing. When I check my checking acct out and other accounts, I find they go all the way back to 2017? I click on the date 11/1/2017 thinking this would to the beginning of this year and go back and everything is there. I am trying to speed it up by making the file smaller. I thought it made sense? If I need something I can always go back. I must doing something wrong?

thanks Brue

Archiving will not make your system substantially faster. I have 25+ years in my current data file with no issues. What will make the data file smaller and make the backup process quicker is deleting obsolete attachements.

Ok, thanks I don't recall any attachments to things. I thought archiving, backed up everything from the previous year. I don't think you necessarily need files back in 2017 in regards to my files. Just seems Quicken has got somewhat sluggish. Already run a check, no big problems except writing 1900 in.

Thanks, then I won't worry about it. Bruce.
