Credit Card Reconciliation - Create online payee default

Default Online Payee. After completing a credit card reconciliation Quicken it ask us to confirm and select if we want to pay the card vendor via an online payee. It would be nice to select an online payee as the default payee on future reconciliations. It seems now that quicken only remembers the account name as the vendor to be paid. Now I have to select and verify which online payee to use according the credit card statement.

    Long time Quicken user. I remember being able to set the default payee after a credit card reconcile, but, for the life of me, can't find the field to set in Quicken Classic Premier. Yeah, first world problems. But where is the sucker?

    Slightly confused.
    When I reconcile a Credit Card, it then asks if I want to Pay the bill. Selecting Yes, it only gives me two options: Printed Check or Online. Since I do not use Quicken's online service, but pay the CC 'Direct', I must select the Print Check; then Record it… then go to the Check Register of the account (paying from) and change the method from Printed Check to Direct. I think there should be more than Two options of how to pay, when reconciling a CC account. Perhaps all payment methods?

    My recommendation is and has always been to ignore the prompt to pay the bill.
    Instead, set up and use a Scheduled Reminder. Independent of when you reconcile the credit card register, record payment when you receive the monthly statement from the credit card company. Be sure to do so a few days before the payment is due and the credit card company sends the Autopay debit to your checking account.
    When the next download in either checking or credit card account receives the payment transactions, Quicken will be able to match the downloaded data to what's already in the register.
