VanGuard; Cash balance

Hopefully someone will have the answer; Vanguard answer its not us…it is Quicken….

First so there is no misunderstanding, my question does not involve the most recent Vanguard debacle with the DirectConnect issue…as I have experienced this several times over the years.

Vanguard does not have a CASH BALANCE catagory at their website…all cash is housed in Money markets. My connection…and my question, how is it that I get a downloaded transaction labeled CASH BALANCE and when ACCEPTED it displays as CASH at the bottom right of the register, and, in Holdings it displays as CASH BALANCE.

Is this as a result of Quicken not handling the Download properly? I normally just go in and UpDate the Cash balance to ZERO…as the amt does not impact the Correct balances of the Acct…..

Are your vanguard accounts set up under their brokerage platform? If so, there will in fact be times when there is a cash balance in the account during the day or so before the cash gets invested in the Vanguard Settlement account(Federal money market).
