New (unmatched) transaction question

Hello,

I've been using Quicken for Mac for a number of years now. It has always put a "brown pencil" icon in any new or unmatched transaction that I manually entered. Then, when the transaction paired with downloaded transaction a "blue dot" would replace the brown pencil and then I'd clear it out.

Recently, when I manually enter a transaction into quicken it looks as if it's already been paired and reconciled (i.e. no pencil or blue dot). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

The only accounts I have that behave that way (no brown pencil in the status column when entered) are Cash accounts. Which makes sense to me since transactions in those accounts don't really have any status to keep track of - there are no downloads so there would never be any blue pencil or blue dot icons. I don't even display the Status column in Cash accounts since it serves no purpose for me.

All my other banking and Investing accounts seem to be working as expected.
