Can I redo 4 months of Reconciliation with the 1st month being in the previous year?

I have the 2010 Version - redoing Reconciliation does not appear to be an option to be selected.

I moved an entry back a year. Now my reconciliation is off by that amount. Can I do the past 4 months of reconciliation over again (starting with Dec 2024 and ending with Mar 2025) using the same Starting & Ending Bank Balances as originally used to correct this situation?

    I have the 2010 Version

Not a particular problem, but you might look into upping to the 2013 version. No version has ever offered a direct 'redo' of past reconciliations.

I moved an entry back a year.

I don't know what that means or how you did it. I assume you did it on purpose. Did you change a date on a transaction - like from 1/2/25 to 12/31/24? Or from 1/2/25 to 1/2/24? Did you delete a reconciled transaction with a 2025 date and add a manual (unreconciled transaction) with a 2024 date? As an added consideration, knowing why you moved it might be helpful.

Also, why do you think reconciliations need to be 'redone'? What problem are you running into that you think redoing the past 4 months is necessary.

I do think users can overly complicate the reconciliation process. My gut reaction would be to reset the Clr status for the redated transaction to be what you know it should be: likely 'R' if you know the bank has properly seen and accounted for the transaction, but possibly 'c' or blank in other less likely cases.

Redoing the past reconciliations would (as I see it) begin with changing the Clr status for all applicable transactions to blank.

Thank you. In response to your question/comment: "I don't know what that means or how you did it. I assume you did it on purpose. Did you change a date on a transaction?"

Answer: Yes, I changed a date from 1/2/2025 to 12/31/2024. Now when I try to reconcile, my reconciliation is off by the amount of the transaction. I don't want to change the Starting or Ending Bank Balances of the reconciliation because they are correct.

Changing the Clr status r does not impact the error. It amount shows up as uncleared but I would have to change the Bank Balance for the amount to clear.

If you changed a date from 1/2/25 back to 12/31/24, and you are trying to reconcile Dec. 2024, that redated transaction should have a Clr status of 'blank' (uncleared). Either manually change it beforehand, or uncheck it as you reconcile that month. As you process that reconciliation for Dec. 2024, that status should remain blank; the transaction should remain unchecked. When your reconcile Jan. 2025, you would check off that transaction as cleared ('c') that month.

I fear I am missing some other aspect of this problem. If transactions through January (including this transaction) were previously reconciled (Clr status = 'R'), changing the date should not have impacted any later reconciliations. If transactions for January 2025 were not yet reconciled (this and other transactions Clr = blank or 'c'), the date change should not have affected the next reconciliation.

I read in a Quicken help article that I can start with the month in question and do each month after that using the Bank Balances. Help….don't want to make it worse than what it is…
