My drive C is full, and some choices need to be made. Moving the Quicken files data files and in fact, I am looking at every program I have now that uses C drive for data storage to get rid of the drive storage limitation problem. How do I go about moving Quicken data files from C drive to a much larger D drive, and what do I need to do in Quicken to accommodate this?

This can be easily accomplished in a few steps. First make sure Quicken is closed. Next, using File explorer, locate you Quicken data file and copy/paste to a new Quicken folder on D:. Once the file is copied over, you should double click the file on D: and Quicken will launch with the new location.
