Account Balances Report, when displaying Month Intervals, displays $0 for prior months

This issue seems to have emerged in the last month — at the start of every month I run this report and save a PDF of it.

Regardless of the range I pick, if the stock "Account Balances" report is run for month intervals it displays $0 balances for all but the final month.

Can anyone else confirm?

@russwilliston have you tried any troubleshooting steps such as a data file validate? If not, I think that is the first thing to try -

Click on File→Validate and Repair File, then select "Validate file". To do a super validate, hold down Ctrl-Shift when clicking on Validate and Repair File.

Review the logs for any error messages (there usually aren't any). Then run the report again to see if the issue is resolved.

Tried "Validate and Repair" and that seems to have fixed it! Just a few notes about fixes in the repair log:

    QDF:
    Validating your data.
Quicken repaired ACCT_99 account. No action required.
Quicken repaired 25 NISSAN LEAF XX4844 account. No action required.
Quicken found an invalid transaction record and removed it. "25 NISSAN LEAF XX4844" 0/ 0/1900

Appreciate the help! That was very odd. Only place I noticed an issue was the Account Balances report — other reports run monthly worked fine.

    Thanks @CaliQkn !

@russwilliston glad it worked. Those messages indicate some data file corruption. It's not easy to determine how or why, but I think the "ACCT_99" happens when a process is halted unexpectedly from a Ctrl-Alt-Del, or a crash. Hopefully you won't experience any further issues. Check your categories. You might have a category called "ACCT_99" or something like that. If so, just delete it.

Thank you: I found "ACCT_99" in my category list. I deleted it — the confirmation message confirmed it was unused.

    Thanks again.

Assuming that your currently open Quicken data file contains transactions prior to April 2025 …

What is your setting for Date Range when running this report?
It looks to me as if you my have set a Custom Date with a range of 4/30/2025 - 4/30/2025 … therefore the report cannot show prior months' account balances.
Try changing the date range to "Last 12 months" or any other acceptable date range
