I am using Windows 11 and recently upgraded to the latest version of Quicken Classic Premier (R62.16 27.1.62.16). During that upgrade I imported all of my previous transactions. Now, all of my investment dividends show up in reports as 'uncategorized' instead of '_DivInc' like they used to show up. '_DivInc' is one of the categories on the Category list, so it is there. I tried to change one of the investment transactions, but the category is hard coded and I can't change it. Any ideas how to fix this?

OK - I found a solution just after I made this post. I ran 'validate' and it corrected some error with the categories per the validation log. Though it is tedious, now when I open each dividend transaction and save it, it saves back to the _DivInc category and not Uncategorized.

What Quicken version did you upgrade from?

Or did you move to a new computer and had to also move your Quicken data file? If so, what process did you use to, as you stated, "import previous transactions"?

A few more details on what exactly you did would be helpful.

Hello - I am not sure what version I upgraded from. I had an issue where the download flag was stuck on. I called the help desk and the representative and I worked through different fixes but none of them worked. Until, we exported all transactions and did a complete rebuild of Quicken by importing them. He also helped me upgrade to the version I noted previously. I was on the phone for more than an hour to get this done, and now I have another problem. Does that help at all?
