Unable to get Direct connect dowloads from Wells Fargo

My Wells Fargo accounts no longer download. I have 10 separate accounts with WF and when I try to download I get a cc-800 message. The problem started about 2 weeks ago. Last week I called Quicken and after working with me for some time said it was a bank problem. The bank said it was not their problem, CC indicated Quicken. I fiddled with it some and was able to get 7accounts to Direct connect but yesterday it stopped working again.

I spent 2 hours with Quicken support today and they could not resolve the issue. Did multiple resets and other things. Support said it must be a Wells Fargo problem but Wells Fargo again said there is nothing they can do and cc-800 indicates a Quicken problem. I have been using Quicken for 12 years and have not had this problem before. Any suggestions

@wgd049 here are some steps to help you resolve the CC-800 errors and get your Wells Fargo accounts working with Direct Connect -

The steps include making a copy of your data file. After the copy is made, you will need to reactivate online connections for all your accounts.

    1. Make a backup of your data file. And, make backups during these steps, just in case you need to go back a step.
    2. Do a data file validate. Click on File→Validate and Repair File, and then select "Validate." When the process completes, review the log for any error messages.
    3. Do a data file super validate. Same as validate except hold Ctrl-Shift while clicking on "Validate and Repair File"
    4. Do a "Copy File". Click on File→Copy or Backup File, and select "Create a copy or template", and click "Next". On the next screen, keep all defaults. You can change the new data file name and location if you wish.
    5. Reactivate online connections for Wells Fargo accounts. In the new data file, go to Tools and select "Add Account". (Do not use "Set up now" in Account Details.) Type in "Wells Fargo", then Wells Fargo should be listed under "Best Results".
    6. On the right panel, click on "Advanced Options". Click on "Continue" until you get to a screen that lists out the connection methods and select the second option "Direct Connect".
    7. If you see a screen that asks what type of account, choose "Banking accounts".
    8. Keep clicking next to come to the screen where you need to put in your user name and password.
    9. After entering your user name and password, you will then see a list of your accounts with Wells Fargo. Carefully link your accounts with WF to the accounts on Quicken.
    10. Reactivate the rest of your accounts carefully linking to your accounts on Quicken. You didn't mention how many other accounts you had or if they were also having issues, but hopefully reactivating them won't be a problem.

I know that it is a lot of steps to go through, but I think you have two separate issues (DC activation and CC-800 errors) that are causing problems.

@wgd049 one other thing I forgot to mention. If you get an error message while setting up Direct Connect for Wells Fargo accounts, you probably are being asked to verify your identity. In the error message there will be a website you are asked to sign into. Once you successfully sign in, you will have 10 minutes to go back to Quicken and finish your DC activation with your Wells Fargo accounts.
