Wells Fargo Transaction Download No Longer Working

Started 1 week ago. Was required by quicken to upgrade to "Direct Connect", which I did…causing nothing to work.

I've tried multiple times to reset my account, but to no avail.

Not sure how to get actual action or someone provided an update to what looks like a fiasco given the number of folks complaining about transactions or connections not working.

Are we supposed to just continually try & hopefully at some point it just magically starts working?

And yes, I've submitted the Help>Report a problem probably 4x now.

@garyldougherty using "Reset Account" can be touchy sometimes. The issues is that when it doesn't complete fully, it can leave connection settings "remnants" that will prevent you from making a proper connection.

Here are some steps to get to a point where you can create "clean" connections with your Wells Fargo accounts and Direct Connect -

The steps include making a copy of your data file. After the copy is made, you will need to reactivate online connections for all your accounts, not just for Wells Fargo

    1. Make a backup of your data file. And, make backups during these steps, just in case you need to go back a step.
    2. Do a data file validate. Click on File→Validate and Repair File, and then select "Validate." When the process completes, review the log for any error messages.
    3. Do a data file super validate. Same as validate except hold Ctrl-Shift while clicking on "Validate and Repair File"
    4. Do a "Copy File". Click on File→Copy or Backup File, and select "Create a copy or template", and click "Next". On the next screen, keep all defaults. You can change the new data file name and location if you wish.
    5. Reactivate online connections for Wells Fargo accounts. In the new data file, go to Tools and select "Add Account". (Do not use "Set up now" in Account Details.) Type in "Wells Fargo", then Wells Fargo should be listed under "Best Results".
    6. On the right panel, click on "Advanced Options". Click on "Continue" until you get to a screen that lists out the connection methods and select the second option "Direct Connect".
    7. If you see a screen that asks what type of account, choose "Banking accounts".
    8. Keep clicking next to come to the screen where you need to put in your user name and password.
    9. If you get an error message, after signing in, it could be that you need to verify your identity before you can continue with the setup. The error message should give you a website to log into. Once you do that successfully and click "OK", you will have 10 minutes to get back to Quicken and continue or restart the activation process.
    10. After entering your user name and password successfully, you will then see a list of your accounts with Wells Fargo. Carefully link your accounts with WF to the accounts on Quicken.
    11. Reactivate the rest of your accounts carefully linking to your accounts on Quicken. You didn't mention how many other accounts you had or if they were also having issues, but hopefully reactivating them won't be a problem.
