CC-800 Errors

May 2025: I have been trying to rid myself of the CC-800 error to no avail. The error happened with 2 credit cards and 1 bank account with Wellsfargo. I have fixed those. But my Schwab brokerage accounts are still a problem after dozens of different tries to fix. I went so far as to go to Schwab and turn off the Quicken connection by having it removed entirely. I deactivated all 4 accounts in Quicken. I then setup the connection again, repeatedly using different approaches. I continue to get the CC-800 error. Two accounts are traditional IRA, one account is Stock Brokerage and one account is banking checking. I have had these working fine for over 15 years. I see that in 2023 there are several entries for the CC-800 issue. To insure proper protocal, I made sure that the Schwab account names matched the Quicken names. One IRA account comes up with "create new account" rather than "link to account". Allowing this one time, did not fix the CC-800 problem. Removed all traces again and started fresh to no avail. Downloads of data due happen but still get the CC-800 error in the "One Step Update Summary." All related CC-800 problems happend just after an "update", the same day. Ver. R62.16; Build 27. 1. 62.16; Windows 11 May 2025 latest updates, All.

@Dan76iel these persistent and pervasive CC-800 errors can be gremlins a game of "whack-a-mole". This is the only way I have found to permanently fix the reoccurring CC-800 errors and CC-800 errors that affect multiple financial institutions.
- Make a backup of your data file.
- Validate your data file. Click on File→Validate and Repair File, then select "Validate". Click "OK". Review the "Validate & Repair log" for any messages that need to be acted upon.
- Super Validate your data file. Same as step #2, except hold Ctrl-Shift when clicking on "Validate and Repair File".
- Do a "Copy File" to create a copy of your data file. This process forces a rewrite of code and fix some file corruption issues. It will also clear out online connection "remnants" for all accounts. Click on File→Copy or Backup File, and select "Create a copy or template", and then click Next.
- On the next screen, leave the defaults as is. You can change the new file name and location, if you wish. Click on "Save Copy".
- During the copy process, you will be asked to provide a password for the new file. If you don't want a password, hit ESC.
- When the process completes, switch over to the new file. You will need to re-setup online services for all accounts in the new data file.
These steps don't guarantee that the CC-800 errors won't return. There seems to be a lot of different error conditions that ultimately result in these error, but hopefully these steps can give you a more permanent fix.

I have corrected CC-800 error with Schwab. I had to remove quicken program in Windows 11. The "remove program function failed to work after trying to let Quicken remove it first for a new install of program. This corrupted the APP that is provided by Quicken for removal generating a error code for Microsoft Windows. I searched through Microsoft files and found a "trouble shooter for install/uninstall. I downloaded the trouble shooter and ran it to fix the problem and remove the old quicken version. I then went back to Quicken and did the download again. It went through the process immediately and installed a new version. I have plenty of back-up files that can be used to restore data. Completed restore of current file, then setup all CC for download including the Schwab accounts. Back to normal.

Been having the same issues with CC-800 errors. I uninstalled Quicken, which ran without errors. However, I still had Quicken files on my system and had to manually delete ALL of them, leaving only my data file. Rebooted and reinstalled Quicken, ran one step update and sure enough, had 2 CC-800 errors. Corrected those using the "Deactivate" process, then added them back and ran update again. No errors. Will wait to see what happens tomorrow when I run update again.

Hi guys… I've been frustrated by the same CC-800 errors lately, all as a result of restoring from backups to Google Drive. I successfully performed the Validate/Super Validate regimen suggested above by Cali (thanks) and so far so good. I've done 2 or 3 backups now, without any errors. The proof will be in the pudding, though, when I try restoring from backup on my laptop, which I have not attempted yet. This begs the question: is there a better alternative to backing up the file to the cloud and restoring from it on another computer? Thanks to you both for your erudite and concise contributions here.

Not saying this will fix your error CC-800. But I've been trying to fix this error thru support. Went thru all the fixes that they helped me with for over 2 weeks. But error came back the next day. I had information in my files from 2009. I delete all the information from my accounts except from about 2 years ago to present and my error stopped showing up. So the file being too big with too much information is what I think cause my errors. Give a try with a sample file. Good Luck. Bob

I tried your experiment. I created a new file with just one account. The One Step Update worked a few times then I got the CC-800 error. That confirmed that the problem is not caused by the size of the data file nor is it caused by a corrupted file.

I have Quicken running on 2 computers. Received CC-800 error on #1 3 days ago for multiple banks and accounts that accounts were deleted. Followed the suggestion above to validate file, was able to reactivate some but not all accounts: for Schwab was getting "connection failed" error although I was able to successfully login into Schwab and grant Quicken access to all accounts. Yesterday I was able to add all failed accounts to computer #2 and it worked. This morning one step update started with "syncing your bank accounts with cloud" although I do not have cloud backup active, and shortly after all my banks, brokerages got CC-800 error that account was deleted. It appears to me that it is not the file problem on the computer, but that sync with the cloud that disconnects accounts. Should I create a new Quicken account and log out/login my file with the new account before even starting to add accounts back?

Identified that I was on a public network
I wasn’t but Norton thought I was
Deactivate Reactivate Quicken bank accounts
Update with a lot of back data
Use the “link to existing” to reactivate
Balance adjustment to get current balance
Data reloaded from years ago
Quicken needs to let you put a break in data
Mine is 12+ years of data
