Focus on very first transaction whenever I log in... (Q Mac)

After upgrading I've noticed the focus is on the first transaction in my main checking account register, October 2020. I've made sure to click on a recent transaction before shutting Quicken down but I still need to scroll down when I reopen.

Has some setting been overwritten? Never had this problem in previous versions.

I've seen this happen occasionally. Usually it's fixed by making some small change (eg. add a character to the Memo field) then immediately quitting Quicken.

Unfortunately that's not working for me. Added text to memo fields at the bottom of my register in 2 transactions. After quitting and going back in I was still taken to the very top. Even added a transaction and Quicken still takes me to the top of my register.

    Thanks for the suggestion 😁

I suggest you use (from the menubar) Help:Report a Problem to submit your issue to the developers.

As RickO noted, it occasionally goes to an errant transaction depending on access/viewing. Usually just selecting or updating the the most recent resolves as he notes.

But, your use case about having the most recent transx appearing at the bottom. I don't see too many complaints about it jumping to the top nowadays, but it was more common in the past.

I suspect this is because when the major rewrite of the program occurred (~2010) it was designed/defaults to the most recent transx at the top like most online banking registers. So, jumping to the top is default. Judging by screenshot postings, most users (including myself) have adapted to descending order sort by date.

But, that doesn't help you, and the program should remember your last accessed transaction. So, report it.

    Will do.

As you said, this was a problem in the past. I recall it happening to me once or twice years ago.
