Password not required on some accounts?

I was curious how this works….I have 6 FI accounts, and yesterday I changed the passwords on all 6 accounts to make them more robust. So this morning, I did OSU on Quicken, and I saw an interesting thing. I got some errors - invalid password - as I forgot to update Quicken.

I was prompted to change 3 of the 6 passwords, which completed fine. I thought it odd the other 3 did not give an error! So I went into the vault to change the passwords on those 3 accounts, and for all 3 in the password area it said a password was not required.

So how does this work, if no password is required? I assume it has to do with authorizing the account online, which I see from time to time?

Thanks for the explanation!

I'm guessing that for some logins you can view multiple accounts. Is that true? In that case, you only need to enter the password once for all the accounts that password applies to.

No, it was not that, it was passwords for different FIs. Those that didn't need me to update/correct the password looked like this when I click on add/edit passwords in the Vault..
